“There was once a quiltmaker who kept a house in the blue misty mountains up high…”

The Recreation Group of Omilos presented the theatrical play “The Quiltmaker’s Gift”, a fairy tale by Jeff Brumbeau, on Saturday 31 May 2014 in Omilos’ premises. This play continues Omilos’ long tradition of staging theatrical plays for children and giving performances at institutions sheltering children, hospitals etc. offering laughter, joy and mainly love, as mentioned by the Head of Omilos when introducing the play.

Omilos was filled with children and grown ups who laughed wholeheartedly and participated in their own way; the most “naughty” ones would chat with the characters; the “tell tale” ones would yell to the bear where to find the Quiltmaker so as to make a very fine breakfast of her; and the most “strict” ones would scold the King for being greedy.

At the end of the play the children along with the “fairy tale characters” –and even a few grown ups- stood up and danced to the bear’s hip-hop rhythm who turned good thanks to the Quiltmaker’s care.

The story is about the meaning of offering and loving our fellow humans.

Our third group concluded the presentation of the book “Experiences of a spiritual healer” by Mrs Kiki Keramida.

In our last meeting we talked in detail about what spiritual healing is and presented the ways through which Omilos’ Spiritual Healing Section works: healing with the patient’s presence, distant healing, healing with the active participation of the patient, visits to patients in hospitals or at home, in case of transportation inability.

Healing examples taken from the book but also letters of gratitude from people who experienced themselves what spiritual healing means and were cured from illnesses that troubled them, provided to everyone a more complete view about the breadth and power of spiritual healing.

Summering up, we referred to the whole teaching of Omilos which teaches literally the spiritual healing in our life. That is, how we can have a correct function in our daily life, right ad balanced relationships with others and eventually how we can be well by learning to utilize consiously our infinite capability to bring power and balance to every weak field.

Questions and thoughts were raised that triggered a very interesting and vivid discussion among those attending the presentation.

In our group on “The Golden Ration φ, the Fibonacci Sequence and their applications’’ we talked of the golden proportion, which is the number φ (Phi), the golden rectangle and also the golden spiral and saw how they are made. Later on, we referred to the Fibonacci Sequence, how it was discovered and what is its relation to the number Phi.

We watched how nature uses them in its creations from the formation of galaxies to the creation of plants, animals and also the human being. Man, in his turn, imitates nature and makes use of the golden ratio and the golden spiral to create his own constructions in order to have harmony and balance.

Finally, we talked about the meaning of beauty and harmony and how scientists relate them to the golden ratio; and, the existence of the golden ration and other mathematical proportions in the formation of the Universe.

Life, that is literally everything being in absolute receptivity and in absolute harmony and union, is the Entity.

So Life is full of symbols as the Essence hides within every person, thing, every situation or incident. And it waits for Man to see it, acknowledge it and make it come to light; thus coming to the point to see, acknowledge and express the Essence of his own self. Because everything is an expression of the spiritual field.

Through this approach, we learn in Omilos to deepen into poetry, literature, science, art; and it is through this approach that we also had the last group on ancient Greek theatre (as with all other groups on “Cultural Mondays” too).

“Prometheus Bound” by Aeschylus was the starting point to delve into the deep meanings that the poet conveys concerning the human being. We tried to see beyond appearances, beyond symbols, and reveal the essence, which –well hidden in the theatrical play- waits to unfold so that it vibrates people’s souls bringing “catharsis”.

What does the poet convey about the human being, its ontological nature and its expression? And how does the Entity, Life itself, tend to the evolution of all its parts, therefore for Man’s as well? And how does Man utilize the means given by the Masters of humanity to promote his inner development? Will man take the inner position, like Hercules did (according to the myth Hercules set Prometheus free by breaking his chains), climb up Caucasus and liberate himself through acknowledging and expressing the Self?

These are only some of the questions we discussed about. These questions in turn became new incentives not only for thought but mainly for taking an inner stance and action in our lives.

In this group we presented the life and work of the three great tragic poets Aeschylos, Sofokles and Evripides.

We deepened into the way they bring to light all human aspects so that they can be consciously acted on stage and how they call upon those watching to akcnowledge these aspects in themselves and unify them into the one ontological nature af all.

We gave examples of how the elements of the ancient greek tragedy exist in many expressions of everyday life, such as religious rituals, laments, but also opera and others forms of its revival.

Another expression of the Ancient Greek Tragedy we can find in contemporary greek poetry, for example the “Axion Estin” by the nobel awarded poet Odysseas Elytis. As the poet himself says it is a prayer in the form of a church ritual with alternations of reciting and singing, just like the great ancient tragedies.

Finally, we talked about the poetic work of the founder of Omilos, Dimitris Kakalidis, who has also composed a trilogy like the tragic poets used to do. It is a work with great spiritual value talking about spirit-matter-and the unification of the two.

Besides, in Omilos one of the ways through which we work on “know thyself” is poetry. We have presented poetic events, reciting this trilogy using the “dialogue” between the individual and the group, between the person and “chorus”. A discussion on the power of the Word in all its forms and especially when it is spoken with reference to the infinite human potential, completed this meeting of our group.

• Die Rolle der Geistigkeit bei der Entwicklung von Beständigkeit für die Berufstätigen in den Bereichen der Gesundheit und der Bildung
• Einführung in den Begriff “Beobachter” (Körper – Gefühle – Gedanken)
• Analyse von Kunstwerken (Dichtung – Literatur – Film und Malerei) und die Aufdeckung ihres geistigen Wesens

Nach der Vollendung des Seminares können die Teilnehmenden:

• alltägliche Praktiken üben, die die Lebensqualität und die persönliche Entwicklung fördern
• für die Verbesserung ihrer persönlichen, sozialen und beruflichen Beziehungen arbeiten, durch die Anerkennung der geistigen Natur, sowohl in sich selbst als auch in allen anderen Menschen
• einfache Praktiken von Selbstheilung üben
• Selbstpflegepraktiken mit Schwerpunkt auf die Vermeidung beruflicher “Burnouts” benutzen
• die Bedeutung der geistigen Entwicklung als eine praktische Philosophie verstehen

Dieses Seminar ist an alle Menschen adressiert, die ihre Beziehung, sowohl zu sich selbst und den anderen Menschen, als auch zu ihrem Alltag in allen Ebenen, durch eine undogmatische synthetische und hauptsächlich praktische Philosophie, verbessern möchten. Das Seminar ist ideal für alle, die nach ihrer Selbsterfahrung und persönlicher Entwicklung streben. Natürlich ist es auch geeignet für Berufstätige im Bereich der geistigen Gesundheit, Berater, Psychologen, Psychotherapeuten, Sozialwissenschaftler, Studenten und Berufstätige im Bereich der Bildung und Ausbildung.

From the plateau of poetry we enjoyed the view of a scenery with rivers of ideas and blooming words, as the hidden truths of the poem “From the plateau” by Mihalis Katsaros were being revealed.

There was an enthusiastic participation from all attendees, who made accurate questions and imaginative observations.

The reading of the poem’s analysis from the book “The Wisdom of the Poem” by Dimitris Kakalidis completed yet another beautiful literary evening!

In this second presentation of the book “Experiences of a spiritual healer” we focused on the Spiritual Healer’s position, as taught in Omilos; that is, to be totally involved and express complete interest in others.

The spiritual healer works through Spiritual Healing always as a channel of the spiritual power and with constant reference to the ontological field which exists within him and the person who has asked for his help, as well as in everything around him.

He expresses absolute interest and asks nothing for himself. He offers unselfishly to his fellow human being. He functions simple and to a great extent on the work he has undertaken which is Spiritual Healing. Then, he can understand what the person beside him really needs and can respond promptly to any need presented before him. Having this position, he is able to function therapeutically through all the ways.

Both in the book by Mrs Keramida and all the records of Omilos Spiritual Healing Section, we find numerous examples of healing as well as thank you letters from patients who have been totally healed, showing that all we mentioned above, about the Spiritual Healers’ position, and the greatness of Spiritual Healing are being practiced daily in Omilos. A practice that yields results and changes not only our health but often our whole life, as well.

During our presentation on “Black Holes in Space” we examined how these space-time obscurities form and evolve.

How can we detect them even though they are too far away from the Earth and not visible? Why scientists have long being fascinated by these astrological objects and what does Hawking’s black hole theory suggest? What is the Hawking radiation and what are its results concerning the conservation of entropy and information in the universe?

Lastly, we discussed about how black holes can slowly evaporate and disappear, according to new theories, and what happens to their matter and energy.
