‘The art of spiritual living’ 

This year’s international seminar had as its focus the art of spiritual living, the continuous miracle in everyday life!

It was for four days that we gathered together in picturesque Korfos village, right next to the seaside. There were various attendees from both Greece and abroad.

Through several experiential exercises (such as analyses sessions, relaxation sessions, nidra yoga practice, a group exploring the spiritual dimension in music, poetry and the arts), as well as through spending time together as a whole group, we had the opportunity to relax, rejuvenate and experience what it means to live in a union flow with life and those around us.

As part of the seminar’s programme, we performed a poetry night at the open theatre of Sofiko, where the poetic work of Dimitris Kakalidis ”The Hidden Lotus of Revelation” was recited and the chorodromena of Omilos where presented. A farewell party that we held by the sea completed this beautiful evening.

We gathered at beautiful Korfos, Korinthia for our international seminar titled:

“Spiritual Healing: The Art of Spiritual Living”

It was our pleasure to have at this year’s summer seminar mental health scientists, teachers, students, lawyers and poets, some of whom were from England, Austria, Turkey and Ghana. We also had in attendance members and friends of Omilos from Athens and other regions of Greece.

The various activities (presentations, analysis, discussions, everyday relaxations, nidra yoga and experiential groups to name a few) which took place during the seminar gave participants the opportunity to know the philosophy of Omilos and mostly to experience what it means for someone to live in the flow of spirituality, calmness, balance and joy in every moment of his life.

The thoughts and opinions expressed and exchanged showed how the teaching of Omilos proposes a way of life that can help each person to be well, beyond cultural or other differences.

“I feel like I am in Plato’s Academy”, a student of Political Science and Philosophy from England told us with enthusiasm. The well known Greek poet and painter Ms Leta Koutsohera honoured us by reciting some of her poems, while poet Michael Kwaku Kesse Somuah from Ghana inspired by “Omilos’ family”, as he calls us, wrote, recited and dedicated poems to Omilos. The power of spiritual healing as well as the togetherness and union that existed made a great impression on the participants who emphasized how important it is to see and experience in action what the teaching of Omilos is all about.

The seminar also included a field trip to the archaeological site of Epidavros, while the farewell evening brought great joy and relaxation to all. We would like to thank all for their participation.

We are already planning our next seminars in Greece and abroad, and would welcome you all.

Our ninth seminar was held in the fascinating Korfos of Korinthia on 24-28 August 2011 and its main subject was “Spirituality in everyday life: discovering a new dimension of healing and well-being”.

In these five days of the seminar many discussions, analysis and experiential groups took place in a warm atmosphere of serenity and repose. Everyday relaxations and introduction to Nidra Yoga, as uniquely and substantially is taught in Omilos, contributed to that.

In the beautiful theatre of Sophiko we hosted a night full of philosophy and poetry. Underneath the starry sky and with the view of the verdant mountain, the attendees participated in the Society’s Chorodromena which, according to their saying, brought great joy and uplift to everyone.

The fieldtrip to the ancient theatre and the museum of Epidavros as well as the farewell party that was held by the sea, completed the unique moments of the seminar.

Thus, through all these ways we truly lived in a harmonic and healing flow!

With the completion of the ninth seminar we celebrate three years of organizing seminars in various places around Greece always followed by great feedback and success. In fact, we had the pleasure to have psychologists from England participating in this seminar, who came in contact with Omilos through our presentations in international scientific conferences.

The 8th seminar of Omilos Eksipiretiton was successfully held on 29 April – 1 May 2011, in Vrahati, Korinthia. The seminar’s theme was “Spiritual Healing in our Life: Chorodromena – acting through dance”.

A text in regards to the body, written by the Master, was analysed in the seminar. It was highlighted that the body’s natural state is health and power, and that we can all reach this state if we simply consider our body to be “eternal and spiritual”, as the Master mentions in the text.

A presentation and analysis of chorodromena followed, as they are taught and performed only in Omilos. 

There was also a discussion on the ways in which chorodromena can help us but, mainly, the participants had the opportunity to perform chorodromena themselves and thus, experience the change that comes in the body, emotions, mind and one’s overall disposition in a very simple way. “I felt an overwhelming feeling of calmness and openness”, “It is magnificent”, are only a few of the participants’ comments.

Furthermore, there was a movie analysis as well as a painting interpretation. Through these analyses became clear that only when we acknowledge the body’s ontological nature can we set free of the restrictive ideas regarding the form, the needs and the difficulties of the body.

As in every seminar run by Omilos, the participants emphasized at the repose, peacefulness and serenity they feel as they are in a beautiful location in nature and experience the unity with others and the current of spirituality in everything they do.

The 7th seminar ran by Omilos took place in Vitina, Arcadia, on the 3rd to 5th December 2010. The topic was “Spiritual Healing in our Life”. The seminar subject was developed through reading and analyzing a text written by the founder of Omilos, Dimitris Kakalidis, as well as through various interactive and experiential groups.

Everything in our daily life is Spiritual Healing, provided that we are consciously positioned to think in a positive way, show our complete interest towards those in need and express more and more of our ontological self. In this way, our whole life changes and things flow harmoniously for us as well as for the others.

Dromena (a role-playing group) took place in order for all to understand these meanings and realize how easy and immediate their application can be implemented. By acting out everyday situations and difficulties, it was evident how these situations can be altered when we are differently positioned towards life.

A chorodromena group (movements that balance the forces and energies within us and surrounding us) offered to all the participants one more way of bringing joy, serenity and power within and around them.

There was also a daily meditative relaxation group, while the analysis of a movie and a poem showed the potential that we all have to be well, simply by watching a movie or reading a poem from a different perspective.

The 6th seminar ran by Omilos Eksipiretiton was successfully held in Vrahati, Korinthia on the 18th to 20th June 2010. The seminar’s main topic was “Spirituality: a different approach towards everyday life” and was developed through various ways; the main presentation of the seminar’s subject; a meditative relaxation group; “dromena” (a role-playing group); and the analysis of a poem and a movie.

Through all these activities the participants were able to experience spirituality as something simple and feasible in their everyday life. They had the opportunity to witness that whenever man is in the flow of the Entity, he lives each moment by acknowledging the true nature of everything. Thus, he is becoming an essential and active participant in all aspects of his life and he can be well without the requirement of any special condition or any complex work.

The 5th seminar ran by Omilos Eksipiretiton was successfully held in Loutra Ipatis on the 22nd to 24th January 2010. The topic was “Spirituality: a different approach towards everyday life”.

Through various groups as well as the analysis of a poem and a movie, the point was raised that man is the source of truth and light and that his nature is good. On the path towards realizing this, we need to consciously make positive thoughts and specific visualizations, since “these have immediate results to the world”, as it is mentioned in the Master’s, Dimitris Kakalidis, text that was analyzed during the seminar.

The fourth in a row seminar run by Omilos on “Spirituality: a different approach towards everyday life” was successfully completed in Korfos, Korinthia on the 29th to 31st of May 2009. 

The analysis of a text written by the Master, the analysis of Ilias Simopoulos’s poem “A river of stars” taken from the book “The Wisdom of the Poem”, screening of a movie that depicts the path of a spiritual seeker, but also acting out actual situations of everyday life, converged to the fact that human has the ability to experience consciously the bliss that “governs the whole Universe”. This occurs as he expresses a genuine interest for everyone and everything and acknowledges the Entity that exists in all things.

Additionally, there was a presentation of the ancient Greeks’ knowledge in astronomy.

We would like to thank all those who attended the seminar as they all contributed to its successful outcome with their warm response and participation.

On the 20th to 22nd of February 2009, the third in a row seminar on “Spirituality: a different approach to everyday life” was successfully completed in Lefkandi, Evia.

Through the groups that took place during the seminar it was evident that there can be harmony and peace in everyday life, in human relationships and in the relationship with our own self, if we believe in the true nature of all things and beings, which is their ontological nature.

Furthermore, there was a brief presentation of the life and work of the great ancient Greek Philosopher and Master, Socrates.

We would like to thank everyone who attended the seminar and contributed to its successful outcome with their warm response and participation.

On the 21st to 23rd of November 2008, another seminar ran by Omilos Eksipiretiton was successfully completed, this time in Loutra Ipatis.

Within the context of the seminar’s topic “Spirituality: a different approach towards everyday life”, and through the various groups that took place, each person’s potential to discover and reveal his ontological nature was emerged; when we believe in ourselves, we manifest our hidden spiritual power, since we are nothing but part of the One Self.
