the Society’s teaching travelled to international scientific conferences while members of the Society participated in world contests of poetry and literature: The conductor’s role in the function and performance of the orchestra

The history of the conductor’s role, as we know it today begins in the 19th century.

In this group, we will explore the musical sequences which led to the need for the conductor’s presence in the orchestra, together with his fundamental role in terms of its function and performance.

We will examine the knowledge and skills required by the conductor, in order to stand on the podium and perform his role, his relationship with the orchestra’s musicians and the ways through which he facilitates their understanding and performance of each play they are called to artistically interpret.

You are all invited!
