Narrating the history of humanity and the world through the magical paths of art – journey to the city of Knossos and Mesopotamia

We visited the center of the eastern Mediterranean Sea and the beautiful island of Minoan Crete – the place that gave birth and spread civilization since the beginning of time and was also a melting pot of artistic influences from the ends of the known world. From there, we reached the valleys between Tiger and Euphrates River where we encountered civilizations with barbarian and warlike kings.

Leaving Knossos – the oldest continuously inhabited European city – and its luxurious palaces behind, we took a last, full of awe, fleeting glimpse of the devastating volcanic eruption of Thera. Then time, like a slow moving tsunami, swept everything away as if they were castles in the sand.

Era of Copper! The city of moon god, city of Ur, with the legendary treasures and the most ancient and cruel written laws; that was our next destination. And from the ziggurat, the stepped temple and astronomical observatory we looked into the future: our own present time.

Until our next journey to the history of art, be well and take care one another, equally for each – because, first and foremost, that’s what civilization is and love is the supreme art.
